TJ Shin (b. 1993) is an artist and writer based in Los Angeles. Their multimedia practice explores how structures of power discursively shape perception, form, and environment. Across genres and sites, their works interrogate spatial, linguistic, and temporal systems mediating the boundaries of experience and edges of the frame—while considering their potential for rupture.
Solo and two-person exhibitions have been presented at Los Angeles State Historic Park, MIT List Visual Arts Center, Buffalo Institute of Contemporary Arts, and Lewis Center for the Arts, among other venues. Their writing has appeared in Asia Art Archive, Mousse Magazine, and Post/doc, published by the Vera List Center for Art and Politics.
